Context Diagram Example

Partial Context diagram for Fair Trade

Other systems can appear in a context diagram as well as system users. For example, if it was neccessary for Fair Trade to send accounts to the Inland Revenue (tax office) electronically then this would appear in the context diagram too.

This is a simplistic approach to the process more suited to a project of dossier size. It is all too easy to make your initial analysis and subsequent design all-encompassing and to end up with a project which is too big to be managed in the time available.
